L'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences a annoncé ce matin en grande pompe les nommés dans chacune de ses prestigieuses catégories. The Revenant s'illustre avec pas moins de douze nominations, alors que Mad Max: Fury Road (10), The Martian (7) et Spotlight (6) se partagent le reste de la tarte.
Parmi les déceptions, on remarque l'absence de Inside Out et de The Hateful Eight parmi les nominés de la catégorie Meilleur film. Quentin Tarantino ne figure pas non plus parmi les meilleurs réalisateurs, ce qui en a déçu plus d'un lors de l'annonce officielle jeudi matin. Le drame Carol, déclaré meilleur film de l'année 2015 par de nombreux critiques à travers le monde, n'apparaît pas non plus au sein des nommés pour le trophée du meilleur film. Le nom de Cate Blanchett se retrouve, par contre, dans la catégorie Meilleur actrice.
