La mise en scène énergique et haute en couleur d'Eric Darnell et Simon J. Smith (Bee Movie) va de pair avec une animation de qualité. 

It's hard not to appreciate the spoof-centric comedy with a script by John Aboud, Michael Colton and Brandon Sawyer. At least if you are in the mood for guffaws. 

While there are plenty of madcap antics to fill a feature, all that manic energy ultimately proves to be more exhausting than exhilarating.

But kids might be laughing too hard to care. Still, you wish that orange cheese-puff dust wasn't such a strong metaphor for the nutritional value of the entire film.

Charming in small doses, the Penguins of Madagascar prove altogether less irresistible in their feature-length starring debut.

All Penguins of Madagascar wants to do is make you laugh at its silliness. It succeeds.

The charmless, disposable, and ultra-busy ''Madagasca'' spin-off is more likely to give audiences headaches than laughter.
