L'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences a dévoilé, ce mardi 8 février, sa liste des nommé(e)s en vue de la prochaine soirée des Oscars.
The Power of the Dog, le plus récent long métrage de la réalisatrice néo-zélandaise Jane Campion, part favori avec 12 nominations, dont Meilleur film, Meilleure réalisation, Meilleur actreur (Benedict Cumberbatch) et Meilleur scénario adapté.
Le Dune de Denis Villeneuve fait également très bonne figure avec 10 nominations, dont Meilleur film et plusieurs catégories techniques. Paul Thomas Anderson, Steven Spielberg, Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Jane Campion et Kenneth Branagh ont toutefois été préférés au cinéaste québécois dans la catégorie de la Meilleure réalisation.
Les films King Richard, West Side Story, Belfast, Drive My Car et CODA seront aussi à surveiller.
Notons également que le film de l'ONF Affairs of the Art (réalisé par Joanna Quinn et Les Mills) obtient une nomination dans la catégorie Meilleur court métrage d'animation.
La 94e cérémonie des Oscars sera diffusée depuis le Dolby Theatre, à Hollywood, le 27 mars prochain.
